I love music
Thought I'd start this thread because nobody else has. Sam Atwell. Played the part of Kane Phillips, probably the most fascinating, complex character H&A ever created, to perfection. Athough he left the show (far, far too long ago now ) he is still often discussed and his controversial storylines frequently argued about. I think that's mostly down to Sam Atwell's very, very believable acting. So...anybody else want to say "Well done, Sam!"
~Lynd~
Yep,well done Sam! .I really liked him, even though what Kane did was totally unnacceptable Sam still managed to make him likeable, and there were many layers to him.It wasn't all black and white. xGlowingAngelx
I liked Kane. I don't think what he did was acceptable, but Sam did a brilliant job with his acting and eventually (although some may argue), Kane became a charcater many loved. His relationship with Kirsty was one of the best love stories ever on the show!
Chick
Yep i liked him, he was a good actor. The Kirsty and Kane thing was a really good storyline. Well done Sam and H&A
griseknoen
Sam absolutely did a great job portraying Kane. I don`t think it was an easy part to play, but he did it well. And I really loved him in Headland aswell.
Claire
Yes, indeed. There was something that drew me to the character from day one, and kept me fascinated throughout - storylines that showed that the world is not just black and white; and a character with so many sides and so many depths. No one, not even his greatest fans/critics could say he was 100% good guy or 100% bad guy. I think my obsession with the character was largely down to how he was played out on screen... a character you could believe in - a man who had many flaws and challenges but fought so hard against them. Storylines expertly handled, in a way that you really felt for the characters as if they were real. The Kane and Kirsty romance is/was, in my eyes, the best Home and Away romance of all time... and I like to think it would rank as one of the best in other's eyes. The ultimate forbidden romance, a real chemistry and storylines that just sucked me in and got me completely hooked. I never saw headLand, but would have liked to... and I've heard that Sam's role recently on 'All Saints' was a good one too. Would I like the characters of KK to return? I don't know... simply because I worry that writers would destroy the characters/background that have been built up so well over the years

Nicom
I didn't like the character Kane, AT ALL. (I could go on a rant about why, but this is an appreciation thread so I won't.) I have to say that his acting was great. He really handled his lines well. Great actor. Well done Sam! (That's a huge compliment from me, because normally when you don't like a character you're not fond of the actor or prepared to compliment them. But Sam deserves it. He played a GREAT bad guy, it's just a shame he didn't stay that way through the duration of his time. )

Whether you loved or hated Kane, there was no way you could ignore him!
