Dan F
Just received news from Bevan that his latest show 'Packed to the Rafters' has been given the official go-ahead, and details on it were released to the Press yesterday From eBroadcast: Rebecca Gibney and Erik Thomson will lead the charge with Seven’s new family drama PACKED TO THE RAFTERS – co-starring Michael Caton, and a group of rising stars who will become household names by year’s end. PACKED TO THE RAFTERS joins Seven’s established and successful Aussie dramas CITY HOMICIDE, ALL SAINTS and HOME AND AWAY, which will celebrate its 21st year in 2008. PACKED TO THE RAFTERS: Meet Dave and Julie Rafter (Erik Thomson and Rebecca Gibney) - just your average Australians with three grown-up children. On the eve of their twenty-fifth wedding-anniversary it seems they’re at last about to have the house to themselves. Offspring Rachel, Ben and Nathan (played by newcomers Jessica Marais, Hugh Sheridan and Angus McLaren) have all developed into well-rounded and out-going, if exceptionally different and complex, individuals, with a raft of their own conflicts and dilemmas. But home can seem a very welcome refuge when unforeseen problems loom. I wish the best of luck to Bevan and his team!!!

Dan F
GET SET TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THE RAFTERS Today it was announced the new Australian produced family drama PACKED TO THE RAFTERS will premiere on Tuesday August 26 at 8.30pm. Starring respected actors Rebecca Gibney, SA's Erik Thomson and Michael Caton, the show turns the microscope on would-be empty nesters Julie and Dave Rafter, whose lives are thrown upside down when their family suddenly returns home. PACKED TO THE RAFTERS marks Rebecca Gibney’s first production with Seven and it’s a show she’s thrilled to be a part of. “It’s a real slice of Australian life,” she says. “All the drama and humour is incredibly real and true.” Her co-star Erik Thomson agrees. “There’s nothing like it on Australian television at the moment. It’s about family and love.” Their on-screen children are played by stars-in-the-making including another local core cast member, Hugh Sheridan, as well as Jessica Marais and Angus McLaren. Rounding out the cast is recent dual Logie nominee Zoe Ventoura and George Houvardas. PACKED TO THE RAFTERS is the brainchild of Script Executive Bevan Lee, who has penned some of Australia’s favourite dramas including Home and Away and All Saints. The show’s concept was developed by series producer Jo Porter and Anthony Ellis. Jo Porter says, “Packed to the Rafters reflects the dynamics of the contemporary family. This sense of identification with the Rafter family fuels the show’s dramatic and comic moments. After all, we’ve all been a member of a family at some stage in our lives.” Head of Drama John Holmes adds, “Australians will fall in love with the Rafter family and enjoy the journey they embark on together.” Get set for plenty of drama, lots of laughs and a few tears. Australia’s newest family- the Rafters. PACKED TO THE RAFTERS premieres on Tuesday August 26 at 8.30pm on WIN. From eBroadcast
