What programs can I use to make avatars and other graphics?
There are lots of ways to make avatars and other graphics.

Or you could try free trial versions of:

I have software but I don't know how to use it!
No worries, you can find tutorials everywhere! Firstly, theres BTTB's own tutorials thread here.
Unfortunately they're mostly for photoshop, but you may find something that applies to your software in there.

I see people with fancy fonts and brushes, where can I get some?
To get fonts, you can use Dafont.com.
Brushes are slightly more complicated, but I find what works best is typing 'Photoshop brushes' or 'Paint shop pro brushes' into google and seeing what comes up.

How do I make my avatars/graphics move?
To do this, you will need Adobe Imageready, it comes with photoshop or Animation Shop
But please remember you cannot post moving images on the forum unless they are behind a link with a warning, this is to prevent any members suffering an epileptic fit when viewing them.
I have made my avatar, now what do I save it as?
When saving your avatar, saving it as a .PNG takes up less space and is of higher quality. There is also .JPEG and moving graphics should be saved as .GIF only.

Can I use someone else's avatars?
Please do not use other forum member's artwork on these boards, on MSN or any any other place on the internet without first asking their permission and having received permission crediting them for it.
It has probably been posted before but it is a common curtesy. People in here take time to post their artwork and creations, it's not fair for people to use it without their permission.
Also passing other people's artwork from other sites is completely unacceptable. Anybody who believes a member is doing this should send evidence, including links to the original source to a moderator.
